Abstract

This paper describes the design process of an intelligent physical health detection nail film product using flexible electronic materials. Unlike traditional nail polish, the “nail film” can continuously monitor the users’ physiological state 24 h a day, and the information will be presented vividly on the nails through the nail surface. The innovation of this product is how to transform complex physiological signals into intuitive visual language based on the technological possibilities of intelligent flexible material. In the product, physiological information has been classified into various grades, each grade will be matched up with different design patterns and colors, i.e., red, orange, yellow and green are respectively matched up with superior, good, medium and poor, in order to depict the relationship between patterns and color semantics and different physiological information. Additional body health information feedback can be viewed through mobile APP in real-time by the users, as well as by their caregivers and doctors to observe the users from long distances.
