Abstract

The main topic in this article, tries to take the manual drawing as a tool of graphic ideation embedded in an architectural project, as a reflexive and learning form between visual thinking and graphic thinking. The exercise of application of this tool of graphic ideation consisted in the travel around of the historic center of the Guadalajara city, Mexico, being a reference of the city, since it develops from the articulation offered by the San Juan de Dios river. This axis was and has been one of the main elements of spatial and territorial reference, becoming at the same time in a limit to the interior of the city, dividing it into two large sectors, the so-poor orient and the rich west. Presenting a process of obsession, transgression and contradiction. On this way as justification about what is experienced in reality through creative graphic explanations evidenced by drawing. In the travel, the historic center was drawn in a sketchbook, being this the operative instrument of the project action, considering it as a trigger of reflection and analysis of the urban space, enabling to draw it and redraw it, in order to detect possible problems, intervening them creatively and imaginary.
