Abstract
The impact of symptoms characterizing attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder on communication is highlighted in this chapter. The chapter emphasizes the potential co-occurrence of an undiagnosed language deficit or a co-occurring communication disorder that complicates both the assessment and intervention process. ADHD is defined, highlighting the criteria for diagnosis as well as the prevalence, possible causes, and cultural differences seen in ADHD.
