Hypofractionated and Stereotactic Radiation Therapy

Abstract

Lars Leksell reported the first clinical application of GammaKnife (GaK)-based treatment of trigeminal neuralgia in 1971. Recent advances in linac-based stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) approaches have shown efficacy as an acceptable alternative modality. This chapter summarizes SRS treatment for trigeminal neuralgia.
