Abstract
There are many opportunities for pharmacists to make valuable contributions to the care of patients with diabetes . The application of a systematic pharmaceutical care process as outlined in this chapter will facilitate identification of a range of DRPs which may be preventing the patient from deriving the maximum benefit to be gained from their pharmacotherapy . Pharmacists should appreciate the needs of their patients and establish systems and infrastructure to permit the provision and documentation of effective pharmaceutical care .
