Abstract
This essay examines First Lady Michelle Obama’s activism, partnerships and advocacy by “Joining Forces” with local, state and federal agencies and institutions to effect substantial changes in the lives of US military veterans. By partnering with Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, both women cultivated strong networks to garner support and mobilize coalitions within the private and public sector to have a direct impact on the lives of military men, women and children.
