Abstract

Bisphenol A (BPA) is probably one of the most prevalent synthetic xenoestrogens in the environment. The prevalence of BPA is due to the rapid growth of industrial applications that require BPA. As a result, by 2010 the global production of BPA had increased to about 5 million tons per year. Although the single largest source of BPA contamination is difficult to identify, BPA is always man-made.
