Abstract

Currently, the pressure to internationalize is big. Selling outside the domestic market is a relevant goal for many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Being the decision makers’ attitudes and preferences the center of the internationalization activities of SMEs, understanding how the management team’s cognitive system and organizational ambidexterity determine the speed of internationalization, is particularly important. We propose, therefore, to contribute to a better understanding of the factors that influence the speed of internationalization of SMEs.
