Conclusions and Emerging Perspectives on Africa’s Energy: Can Multiple Perspectives on Energy Management Inform Policy and Practice?

Abstract

This book promotes dialogue and new thinking in the broad field of energy, regional development, sustainability, and international business management. Contributions have to an extent questioned and debated on the hegemony of policy, country differences, managerial orthodoxy, and the dominant academic thinking on energy research but perhaps limited discourse on bridging the gap between science and social science on energy. Future work could cover conceptual, theoretical, and empirical work that debates issues linking energy research and management and international business research that utilise different theoretical perspectives and apply a wide variety of rigorous methodological approaches. This book would be complete to understand the need to foster collaborations among academia, industry, and government as well as evaluating the country/regional participation in clean energy technology development. Future research could explore the transfer of clean energy technologies between the government, universities, and the industries.
