Abstract
Data collected during the nine-week observation period of this study are presented in this chapter. This data is most relevant to the primary research question, ‘What are the principal contributing factors to crossing the proficiency skill threshold among digital art students?’ and the third question, ‘What is the relationship between spatial ability or spatial visualisation and development of proficiency among digital art students?’ Seven students out of 10 (70%) who noticed a transition in their work implicated a type of visualisation as the principal obstacle and ultimately the means by which proficiency was obtained.
