Abstract
The origin of this book is the result of identifying the need and the opportunity to continue conducting interdisciplinary research concerning the development of new models of comprehensive project evaluation systems. Since evaluation systems should have a multidimensional and comprehensive nature, one ought to use different methods and systems to ensure the integration of quantitative and qualitative criteria. The introductory chapter contains a brief presentation of underlying assumptions, the undertaken study, the main research objective, which is the study regarding the needs and possibilities of using mixed intelligent systems in project management and evaluation, along with selecting model solutions in this area. Moreover, it also roughly provides justification for the increasing importance of systemic and interdisciplinary research in the field of evaluation, as well as outlines the structure of the book.
