Abstract

The film, My Life, is based on an original screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin about Bob Jones (born Bob Ivanovich), who is dying from metastatic renal cell carcinoma in his late 30s. It is not a good time to have a terminal illness, as his wife is pregnant. Bob makes a series of videos about his life for his unborn son so he will not grow up without knowing his father. At the same time, Bob, born and raised in a lower middle class family and neighborhood in Detroit, does not get along with his own parents, and now lives in Los Angeles with his wife.
