Abstract
This chapter highlights the accomplishments and historical significance of educator and historian John Henrik Clark, an impressive scholar who advanced in academia before achieving a high school diploma or a Doctorate in Philosophy. The chapter also offers a critical analysis of the role John Henrik Clark had in contributing to the growth and development of education in the African American community, especially as it relates to education policies and practices in twentieth-century America.
