Abstract
Viruses are ultramicroscopic organisms that multiply in living cells. They have a central core of nucleic acid, either DNA or RNA. Viruses proliferate in a living cell where inclusion bodies develop, these can be in the cytoplasm, nucleus or both. Viral infections can be diagnosed with an electron microscope, cultivation of the virus and serology.
