Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Procedures

Abstract

The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) growth factors has become increasingly used in various areas of medicine (Alcaraz-Rubio et al. Rev Hematol Mex 16:128-142, 2015; Cabrera-Ramírez et al. Actas Dermosifiliogr 108:746, 2017). Since its origins of use in dental implantology, it has progressively expanded its field of application in many clinical specialties (Sánchez et al.Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants 18(1):93-103, 2003; Beca et al. Av Periodon Implantol. 19:39–52, 2007). The power of cellular trophism on certain tissues, attributed to growth factors, has made us talk about a new medical discipline, regenerative medicine, which is growing faster than the scientific capacity to produce evidence for proper clinical application (Alcaraz-Rubio et al. Rev Hematol Mex 16:128-142, 2015; Gentile et al. Int J Mol Sci. 18, 2017).

The objective of this chapter is to show our current technique and production method of PRP growth factors, as well as the main clinical applications from our experience: stretch marks, facial rejuvenation, hair loss, and belly sagging.
