Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Procedures

Abstract

Collagen and elastin are the main fibers that form the extracellular dermal matrix, being responsible for tensile strength and elasticity, respectively. Both are formed by cells known as fibroblasts. The production and density of these substances decrease with age, resulting in sagging and wrinkling. Thus, neocollagenesis is the key to managing of various aesthetic conditions aiming toward rejuvenation.
