Abstract

The face can be divided into three parts: superior, middle, and inferior or into aesthetic units. The knowledge of these aesthetic units allows us to work with more detail and in a more specific way for each region. One of the treatments for the rejuvenation of the inferior third of the face is the thread lift. This chapter describes the use of absorbable threads made of polylactic acid using cone technology as an option for the inferior third of the face to create lift and biostimulation. Knowing when to indicate threads and understanding the best technique are paramount for satisfactory results. Two techniques are approached, the conventional technique and the personal technique used by the author, who explains the main steps to carry out the procedure. Threads are an excellent treatment option for sagging skin and loss of facial definition and can be performed quickly, safely, and effectively when indicated with discretion.
