Abstract
Chemical peels are resurfacing procedures, where the application of a chemical agent to the skin causes a controlled destruction of part of or the entire epidermis, with or without the dermis, leading to exfoliation and removal of superficial lesions, followed by regeneration of new epidermal and dermal tissue [1]. The wound produced by resurfacing promotes collagen remodeling and improves surface appearance.
