The technique of botulinum toxin injection in superficial microdoses has gained strength and scientific support in recent years. It is a new possibility to approach areas not treated with classical intramuscular techniques and also reinforces new therapeutic options aiming at not only skin rejuvenation but also clinical aspects that can be benefited, such as smoothing of wrinkles with non-dynamic etiology, texture, oiliness, and pore size, as well as attenuate inflammatory, vascular, and other diseases under investigation. Studies in this field have been developed, and it is expected that greater knowledge will be acquired in the near future.
