Abstract
This chapter discusses the structure, histology, and function of the skin. The composition of the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous fat is reviewed in great detail. In addition to their physiologic role and histologic features, a thorough description of the different layers, cell types, and adnexal structures, which form the skin, is given.
