Abstract
Clinical results obtained by phenol-croton oil peels are the gold-standard treatment for severe photoaging. When used with fixed phenol concentrations of 35%, the strength of the peel may be set as needed by choosing the croton oil concentration ranging from 0.4% to 1.6% (Hetter’s formulas). The success of the procedure depends on the artistic hands of the surgeon, patient education, and attention to safety standards.
