This final chapter highlights and summarizes many of the general ideas brought up throughout the book. It discusses the importance of persuasion power of presidents and its impact upon choices. Domestic presidential speechmaking offers administrations a way to help understand pressures, priorities, and targeted audiences. O’Brien contends that while no one perspective tells a full story, we can better understand administrations when we filter them through different viewpoints. Census regions, media market, and Electoral College results all inform us about preferential areas of each administration. Foreign speeches help us see places presidents choose to go to help promote the USA. Vacation locations and their accompanying speeches allow us the ability to how presidents engage the public when they are away from Washington, DC.
