Abstract
Financial literacy entails the ability to discern financial choices, discuss money and financial issues without (or despite) discomfort, plan ahead, and respond competently to life events that affect everyday financial decisions, including events in the general economy. This chapter also looks at the objectives of financial literacy on the introduction of a financial literacy program at the University of the West Indies.
