Sensors are measurement transducers. They transform parameters of interest into electrical signals that can be displayed, stored, or further processed for applications in science and technology. Based on a view on the physics of sensors, the characteristics of sensors are described, including the sensing measuring chain, signal processing, and data acquisition.
