Physical Principles Applied to the OAGB

Abstract

We present the application of physical laws and principles to the one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB), to explain the advantages of the procedure. The presence of liquids and materials contained in cylinders is very similar to what happens in the gastric reservoir of the OAGB. The laws that most closely resemble the physical model are used when a OAGB is constructed. The laws of Hagen-Poiseuille, Laplace, Pascal and Hooke are used for models of torsion, turbulence and elasticity, to explain the behavior of tissues when exposed to the force vectors represented by the weight of food. The deformity of the tissues is evaluated. We establish a theory with which we explain the permanent elongation of the intestinal tissue called compliance.
