An Introduction to Projective Geometry

  • Meighan I. Dillon

Projective geometry has a long history going back to the late classical era with the work of Pappus . Early in the nineteenth century, Poncelet wrote the first treatise on the subject but it did not develop into one of the building blocks of modern mathematics until late in the nineteenth century. Nowadays, projective geometry is part of the everyday working tool set for mathematicians in geometry, topology, and algebra. It is also of interest in its own right.
