Rotations and Quaternions

  • Meighan I. Dillon

What is a rotation? A turn, an angle change, an event in which an object starts here and ends up there, where “here” and “there” are points that lie on a circular arc. It is hard to imagine a rotation without a journey, but for the most part, we care about where things start and where they end up, not how they actually found their way to their final positions.
