Abstract
This book chapter reviews some of the vulnerabilities that continue to be crucial for prevention, intervention, and the effective treatment of survivors. Risk factors vary across countries and cultures; however, at least 80% of sex trafficking victims are women and girls. It is important to also understand stages of potential sex trafficking where childhood trauma, lack of school and/or family connectedness, and political turmoil also have a heavy influence.
