Abstract
Some specific case studies are addressed—Open Health and Open Science—where Responsible Research and Innovation can play a crucial role and yield potential benefits, aiming at openness, transparency and sharing of relevant science and innovation efforts and outcomes. Open Science concerns access to outcomes of Science, circulation and use of results, development of scientific findings and breakthroughs. It implies open access, open data, open peer review and open licenses, which influence copyright, patents and transfer of knowledge. We explore a “Country case” (Italy). Open Health includes epidemiology, health data of geo-localized populations, open innovation, caring diseases. Here we deal with the topic “care”. Some people go beyond the patient-doctor exclusive relationship through unexpected resources and experiences, sharing medical records with the “crowd” to get ideas, perspectives, cures, experiences. A new paradigm by Salvatore Iaconesi is analyzed.
