Abstract
Chapter 6 is the conclusion and the author provides a critical discussion of key themes and lessons learned from previous chapters in relation to Inclusion and Disability in Malaysia, Bhutan, Philippines and Belize. Based on the distinction between themes that can be described as generic and thus applicable to many contexts, and those that can only be understood if specific contexts are explored in greater detail, the author proposes a holistic framework for conceptualising inclusive education within contexts of the global South and calls for the need to adopt research approaches that are qualitative and flexible, but systematic and reflective. The chapter closes with some specific recommendations for researchers that will also be useful to policy makers and practitioners in the field of inclusive education.
