Abstract
A 17-year-old male presented with an orbital foreign body, tunneled conjunctival laceration, and a fundus exam with pre-retinal hemorrhage following a projectile injury. The limited view of the retina prevented exclusion of an open globe injury and the patient was taken to the operating room for exploration where the globe was found to be intact. In cases of ocular trauma where a limited examination prevents definitive exclusion of an open globe injury, the patient should be taken to the operating room for exploration.
