Abstract

The definition of a thin or Kirchhoff plate element is summarized in Table 6.1. The derivation in lectures normally starts with the introduction of an elemental coordinate system (xyz) where the x- and y-axis is aligned with the principal axes of the element and the z-axis is perpendicular to the element.
