Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to research existing models of financial institutions and determine the position of Islamic finance in today’s modern world of conventional western finance. Theory suggests that Islamic financial principles are not inferior to conventional principles and perhaps may even supersede them in some aspects. This paper will attempt to empirically display the relative strengths and weaknesses of both bank types.
