Abstract
This chapter looks into the following five major aspects of the neoliberal economic model: privatization and private ownership of the means of production, price deregulation, trade liberalization, tax cuts for businesses, and government spending on social welfare. The chapter shows that the influence and impact of neoliberalism in the economic sphere are strong and pervasive. This chapter further sheds light on the capitalist nature of the post-Soviet transitions of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
