Abstract

The aims of regional policy are not entirely clarified and may contradict each other. A conflict in the aims of regional policy is considered to be unavoidable. The primary contribution of this study is to provide a method to construct regional (investment) policies, which overcome the trade-off in the aims of regional policy. This chapter presents a conclusion by providing an overall summary of the thesis developed in this study and suggests avenues for future research on ‘conflict-resolution’ in regional policy.
