Abstract
Through many years of teaching probability and stochastic processes, the author has observed that students find the main subjects of this book—probability, random variables, and stochastic processes—difficult because of the difficulty associated with three particular areas of mathematics, i.e., complex variables, linear algebra, and set theory, which are used extensively as analyses tools in the above said main subjects. In addition to these main subjects, this book devotes a full chapter to explain the essential elements of complex variables, linear algebra, and set theory.
