Abstract

Latin America and low and middle-income countries (LMICs) in general, although geographically distant, have similar shared structural conditions that influence the implementation of policies and international agreements adopted by their governments. Although this situation makes them vulnerable to failure, it also causes them to be creative in facing challenges, as can be seen when it comes to initiatives aimed at reducing health inequities and acting on critical issues related to human rights, social justice, and equity.
