Abstract

The paper presents the usage of Relative Distance Measure (RDM) interval arithmetic with Cardano’s rule for solving the interval cubic equations. Based on the crisp Cardano’s rule the extension for interval variables was made. Also numerical examples for a real solution are given. The solutions obtained with RDM interval arithmetic satisfy the analysed cubic interval equations. The examples show that results with standard interval arithmetic are not full solutions and give values that do not satisfy solved equations.
