Abstract

  • Landmarks may supplement neuronavigation when defining small approaches to the interhemispheric space.

  • The importance of the branches of the pericallosal artery crossing the midline is discussed. These branches are difficult to visualize on angiography but can usually be seen clearly during surgery.

  • For midline approaches, small gaps between the dorsal bridging veins can be visualized on MRI and be used to approach deep structures.
