Long cylinders. In the “magnetic case”, the parallel component of the auxiliary field, \(\mathbf {H}=\mathbf {B}/[(\mu _0)\,\mu _\mathrm{r}]\) (here, and the following, the parentheses mean that \(\mu _0\) appears in SI units only, not in Gaussian units) is continuous at the lateral surface of the cylinder.
