Abstract
This chapter introduces Schopenhauer’s highly praised source of Indian wisdom, the Oupnek’hat , and examines possible inspiring impulses and points of contact between its core topic of self-realization and Schopenhauer’s conception of the self, of compassion, and cognition beyond the principle of sufficient reason.
