Abstract

This chapter concludes the volume by offering a brief manual regarding how to perform educational research within course settings with a specific emphasis on studying Reacting to the Past. Intended as a primer rather than a comprehensive educational research manual, the chapter reviews protocols and strategies that are easy to employ while also resulting in meaningful findings. The authors provide useful guidelines and recommendations for disseminating findings for readers interested in engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning on RTTP and beyond.

    Randomization in study design occurs at the participant level to control for participant characteristics. While you can randomly choose one section as the treatment and one as the control, in research it is only when participants are randomly assigned to the groups that true experimental design is achieved.
