Abstract

The Setor Habitacional Jardins Mangueiral is the result of a public-private partnership in which the Government of the Federal District gave the area to build a certain group and financing held by the Caixa Economica Federal. Therefore, beneficiaries who meet the requirements of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program, the Federal Government, have access to special terms of payment in real estate. This is a neighborhood with installed infrastructure, equipped with squares, accessibility, water supply and sewage, gated communities, paved and lighted streets, parking spaces, among other devices. Thus, with the installation of the housing area, made necessary the allocation of areas with a view to infiltration of rainwater consistent with the neighborhood in question. In this context, this article seeks to present the results and discussions of the geotechnical investigations carried out in the area and collected soil at the site of the Setor Habitacional deployment. The study consisted in carrying infiltration assays “in situ” removal of soil samples granulometry tests, natural density of the soil, density of the soil grains, direct shear and densification in order to verify the possible behavior of soils located in the areas that were intended for infiltration of rainwater. Among other findings, it was increased densification with the depth of contrasting material with the decrease of the permeability as the depth increases. This fact highlights the influence of weathering in the upper layers of existing soil strata in the area. The specific weights show that in terms of the superficial genesis and underlying soils are similar and typical compositions of clays and sands. The porosity of the material then decreases with depth as a result of densification (increased bulk density). It is found that the permeability values obtained are of the order of magnitude of 10–3 cm/s in the depths of 1.50 m and 10–4 cm/s to the depths of 3.0 m. For laboratory tests were collected three undisturbed soil samples. These tests comprised grain size, natural density of the soil, density of soil grains, direct shear and densification. Abstracts are presented the results of tests carried out geotechnical and certain parameters. In terms of densification were performed a total of six (6) tests in order to verify a possible ground behavior in the natural state and soil collapse in predetermined voltages. These tests were conducted on the three soil samples collected along the area.
