Abstract

This chapter is devoted to general methods of circuit analysis, that is, methods to solve a circuit (see Sect. 3.1) in a systematic way. Some of these methods are particularly suitable for circuit simulation using a computer. In particular, here we focus on memoryless circuits, even if the proposed results are easily extended to other circuits in the next chapters. We describe node and mesh analysis methods, the superposition principle, substitution principle, and some practical rules that can help circuit analysis.

Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel. Socrates
