Abstract
Arne Carlsen, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, looks to the challenges of the future. How cities will, in a period of increasing urbanisation, play a critical role in meeting the global challenges as outlined in the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
