Abstract

Jesus, Figure of Arrival continues with a discussion of Derridean hauntological and Jesus’s subjectivity in the context of Christian theology. This also takes the form of an extended analysis of Spectres of Marx in which Derrida deals most directly with the philosophical and, more specifically, metaphysical implications of constructing a Christian heritage without theological completeness. The chapter concludes with references to Carl Rashke’s book GloboChrist and Derrida’s earlier references to Heidegger in Of Sprit, which prefigures his work in Spectres of Marx and Archive Fever.
