Aesthetic Surgery for Hypertrophic Nipple: A Simple Technique

Hypertrophic nipple is an uncommon but very distressing situation, not only for the social discomfort, as it shows under light clothing, but also for the general discomfort, pain, skin chafing, and ulceration it causes. The author proposes a simple surgical technique to reduce the hypertrophic nipple, to a more suitable size and shape. It consists in splitting the nipple in three equal parts and creates three pyramidal flaps that will become the new nipple. This surgical technique works well for those nipples with diameter or height hypertrophy, as well as for those with both diameter and height hypertrophy. It is a safe procedure with good results.
