Achieving Aspirations: What Did the Girls Do?

This chapter reports on data collected in the follow-up interviews. This second stage of the research started six years after the first interviews and was completed two years later. The girls were all in post-compulsory education situations of work, study or unemployment. The interviews focused on what had happened since the first stage interviews, identifying the successes and barriers that the girls had experienced, and how families and schools continued to influence these.
