Abstract
The objective of the research presented in this paper is to introduce concepts and methodology for the measure of satisfaction and cognitive styles. The base population is taken from a sample of 16 first grade high school students in different cities of Mexico, Portugal and Costa Rica, enrolled in the virtual collaborative project “Our Earth: Deforestation” of the Network of the Latin American Institute of Educational Communication (ILCE). To that end, the 26-Item Cognitive Style and Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSEC) was developed. In this work, cognitive learning styles and an initial assessment of collaborative usability are identified. The first results show a predominance of deep cognitive style and a high degree of satisfaction with the project. It is noticed that satisfaction and cognitive styles coexist in an interdependent way, since the complexity of the activities is identified with the deep or superficial style.
