Dermatological Atlas of Indigenous People

Abstract

Currently the indigenous population develops allergic diseases very similar to the general population, due to increasing contact with industrialized products. Although, they remain exposed to products of natural origin. The access to medications also leads to the emergence of adverse drug reactions. The geographic region in which the Xingu Indigenous Park was established is quite cold at night, and the inhabitants warm themselves with bonfires. This leads to cutaneous xerosis with worsening of diseases such as pityriasis versicolor.
